Life is Short

Today, on September 11th, we are reminded of how truly short this life is. With the list of our daily duties, it is easy to forget.

It is easy to forget the waiter that messed up our order, is a person. The car that cut us off on the freeway, is a person. The blogger that left us an awful comment, is a person. All people who feel.

When someone else’s life spills some of their hurt into ours, we can’t help but to feel it. We forget they have been hurt too.

But today, we remember.

We remember there is worth in each person we encounter. We are given the opportunity to share a little bit of love, and these are the moments they need us to refresh them the most!

A generous man will prosper,
he who refreshes others will himself
be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25

While we mourn the many who have lost their lives for this nation, let us not forget to take care of each other. Let us refresh one another and be refreshed! Because there is nothing more refreshing than to encourage another person.

Our presence is the best gift we can give. Let us give it to all those around us, for we never know when we will not get the opportunity again. We can be so thankful to have this opportunity today!

Thank you to all who serve and fight for this country, so that we may be free to lift up one another!

“There is nothing more refreshing than to encourage another person.” -So True! You have raised a beautiful point that those persons hurting us in some way are also hurt by someone in the other way. If this clearly noticed and exercised, our burden of hurt lessens. We start feeling sorry for others instead of cursing them for the hurts they have given to us. I appreciate your beautiful heart and warm wisdom. Love you and bless you.

Thank you!! You always have something encouraging to say. It is so true that sometimes the cruelest people in our lives are the ones that have experienced the most pain. When we can understand that, we have the ability to not take their behavior personal. Thank goodness! I hope you enjoy this day, and only come in contact with those who lift you up! May it be a beautiful day 🙂 ❤

Wow! Encouragement, it is the best gift we can give. Ever read the Grinch? I often feel that is what encouragement does. It takes a heart that is two sizes too small and grows it three sizes more (at least it is the picture I see in my head when people encourage me 🙂 ).

Yes!! I absolutely love all things Christmas… made a previous post about it 🙂 I would have to agree with you. I’ve heard that the word encourage can be broken down to ‘en’ or ‘give’ courage. It’s a beautiful gift! Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment 🙂 It encourages me greatly!!

Wow! Christmas is my favorite holiday too. People just seem nicer around that time (or maybe I’m just nicer). I love that “en” “give”. I want to “give”. But also wanted to say Thank You for being an example of “give” with your words.

Beautiful Emily! Yes, we are so quick to forget that each person is made in the image of God!
